Vacancy for a Local Pastor working in the

South Holderness Methodist Circuit (Rural and Coastal Section)

The South Holderness Methodist Circuit is seeking to appoint a Local Pastor to report to us and work within our Rural and Coastal Section. A significant focus of the work will be with the church communities of Withernsea, Elsternwick (also known as Elstronwick) and Patrington, and within the community of Keyingham. This is a new role and exciting vocational opportunity to join the Circuit Leadership Team and make a positive contribution to mission and outreach

We seek a gifted person to work collaboratively in the three main areas of worship leading, pastoral duties and outreach initiatives. The successful applicant will be required to lead worship and other devotional gatherings. The pastoral duties will include home and hospital visits and, with training and support, the leading of funeral services, baptism services and home communions. There will be some requirement to attend meetings as the Ministry Team representative.

Training and support will be available locally and through a District scheme alongside other Local Pastors in partnership with Cliff College. This appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Debarring Service (DBS) disclosure. Pastoral Supervision will also feature as part of this role.

The hours of work are 30 hours per week and the salary is £19,921.20 per annum. The post has an initial fixed term of five years, with a six-month probationary period, and will be subject to satisfactory references
